Napa & Sonoma
Napa Valley contains well over 400 wineries. Due to diverse soils, climate and topography, Napa Valley vintners are able to produce a variety of consistent quality wines from a wide-ranging selection of grapes.
About 73% of Sonoma County's agricultural production is growing wine grapes—60,302 acres of vineyards, with over 1100 growers. The most common varieties planted are Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinot noir, though the area is also known for its Merlot and Zinfandel.
