MORE than a tasting - AVA's of Oregon & Washington
In the Pacific Northwest of the USA, are two of the world's youngest and most promising wine regions, OREGON & WASHINGTON.
Unheard-of 50 years ago, OREGON Pinot Noirs (particularly those from the Willamette Valley) rank among the very finest American wines. Tonight, we're going to taste SIX of them.
Washington's has more than 900 wineries and 350 plus independent wine grape growers, with over 50,000 acres of vineyards. Washington makes more wine than any other state is the US, apart from California.
Tonight, we look at how AGE changes Syrah with a 2003 & 2012 Vintage. Then we'll taste a blend, an amazing merlot and two Cabs that we're hoping will blow your mind!
It's Tuesday at the Vendome Wine Bar and David Milligan is behind the bar showing you what it's all about. With over 50 slides of the AVA's streaming on the TV monitors, and maps identifying the regions of the wines being offered. Tonight's about WINE and understanding where it's from and why perhaps, it tastes the way it does.
